Implement therapeutic interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to help patients achieve functional independence.
Assist patients in practicing activities of daily living, including dressing, grooming, bathing, and meal preparation.
Guide patients through exercises designed to improve fine motor skills, upper extremity strength, and range of motion.
Monitor patient progress and provide detailed feedback to the Occupational Therapist regarding response to treatment and goal attainment.
Instruct patients and caregivers in the use of adaptive equipment and compensatory strategies to overcome physical or cognitive barriers.
Document patient treatment sessions, including objective data and clinical observations, in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
Fabricate and adjust basic splints or orthotics as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
Prepare and maintain the treatment environment, ensuring all equipment is clean, safe, and ready for use.

Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Solid understanding of occupational therapy principles, human anatomy, and the impact of disability on daily function.
Ability to follow clinical treatment plans with precision while adapting techniques to meet individual patient needs.
Strong organizational skills to manage a patient caseload and maintain timely documentation.
Excellent communication skills to provide clear instructions and emotional support to patients and their families.
Physical capability to lift, position, and transfer patients safely and stand for long durations.

Active state license or certification to practice as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant.
Current certification through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification for healthcare providers.
Evidence of completion of state-required continuing education for license maintenance.
